The logo inspiration was the TIKA-red dot, worn by wives and on foreheads during Hindu holidays.  The shape of the letter “S” comes from the symbol of Ganesha, the God of success and prosperity.

Indian food, fashion, culture is hugely colorful. Bring that to life and it supports the authenticity of Desi spices while promising a bright, energetic dining experience. The added ingredient: an overall design that conveys this message in a way that makes cooking with Indian spices easy for anyone.

To support a more upscale, sophisticated tech company personality a files/folders management app inspired by the feeling of art in a white-walled gallery.  Extra magic: push a folder and it swings back and forth.  Swipe a line to search and files flutter by like papers in a breeze.

A portfolio website with a concept. Curiously this is a rarity. Designed for writer/Creative Director, Jerry Fields. He places a lot of emphasis on understanding what matters emotionally to his audience when branding a company. 

This story is told visually with evocative background photos. Care was taken to find textures that didn't compete with his work samples.

Visitors can search by medium or emotional trigger. The site is a continuous scroll, with some moving layers, giving it added life. It also offers stationary headings to explore content sections at a glance.

Lots of details.

Custom play buttons roll video within them when clicked. (You saw it here first, a year before Google.) After two seconds their corresponding TV commercial or digital banner ad starts up.

Main heading colors change in response to background photo color changes. When scrolling to a new page heading colors change as a scroll too, rather than simply instantly changing color.

For those who view the site full screen on a 27" monitor, they are rewarded on the Resume/Contact page with the discovery of a funny bit of graffiti next to a mirror, "You couldn't be more vane if you were a vanity."

The story to tell: OS33 is the highly successful cloud hosting tech company, premium priced, with a more polished, confident, and smartly self-aware mindset than typical tech B to B brand personalities.

 

Translucent headings and logo kick up the image and are appropriate given the slightly ethereal nature of could hosting.

Pricey. Carefree. A bit bohemian. A key product difference, fabulous fabric textures and patterns. We added a “search by print” feature to help convey what normally can only be understood with fingers and up close eyes.

I worked with their assets to create not merely an index but an editorial-meets-pure-art splash.
